As cat, clown, Indian, witch ... Maria Carlsson has for more than 10 years presented concerts and told musical tales for children. She wants children to get an opportunity to listen to music that awakens emotions, gives energy and creates inner pictures. In her roll as narrator she wants to give children concerts a form where text and music contributes to one experience. By dramatizing storybook texts, her own scripts or stories created by children, Maria seeks and makes contact between music and audience.
Maria wants to be the "key" that unlocks the ears to classical music.
Maria has worked together with the Symphony Orchestras in Gothenburg, Malmö, Norrköping and Umeå in concerts for children and teenagers. Together with ensembles from all over Sweden she has performed a great number of chamber concerts for children. Between 1993 through 1997 Maria was the producer of a chamber series for children, "Barnens Musik" in Partille.
